FAQ

Is the file uploaded for metadata?

No. The inspector reads files locally with browser APIs and lightweight parsers.

What metadata can you show?

Name, size, MIME type, dimensions, duration, EXIF for images, ID3 for audio, PDF info, and ZIP listings when available.

Why are some fields empty?

Not every format exposes rich metadata. Probes show what the file actually contains.

Can I export the metadata table?

Use the on-screen table for review. Copy values you need or run a dedicated convert workflow for extracts.

Does EXIF include GPS?

If the camera embedded GPS tags, EXIF probes may show them. Treat location data as sensitive.

Will password-protected PDFs work?

Encrypted PDFs may return limited info until decrypted in a PDF tool that supports your file.
