Cookie Policy
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how Toolkit Scape ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on toolkitscape.com. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
2. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We also use browser storage (for example
localStorage and sessionStorage) for preferences, session state, and
cookie consent choices. In this policy, "cookies" includes these technologies unless we say otherwise.
3. How we use cookies
3.1 Strictly necessary
Always active. Required to run the Service, maintain security, and remember essential choices (including your cookie consent decision).
- Session and load-balancing cookies from our host or CDN;
- Cookie consent preference storage;
- Authentication session cookies when you sign in (when accounts are enabled).
3.2 Preferences
Remember settings such as tool preferences, UI state, or saved options. May be stored locally in your browser or on our server when you save settings.
3.3 Analytics
On toolkitscape.com and www.toolkitscape.com, we use Umami,
a privacy-focused analytics service self-hosted at analytics.fpvschool.com (operated by
our group). It helps us understand aggregated traffic (page views, referrer, country, browser, device).
Umami is designed not to use advertising or cross-site profiling cookies. We do not
use Google Analytics and we do not sell analytics data.
Our cookie banner explains your choices: Essential only covers the service plus this
privacy-friendly analytics; Accept all also covers advertising cookies if we display ads
(for example Google AdSense). Umami and any ad scripts load only after you choose in the banner.
We store your banner choice in browser storage (toolkitscape_cookie_consent) to remember
your preference and demonstrate compliance.
3.4 Advertising (future)
If we display advertising, we or our partners may use cookies to deliver ads, measure campaigns, limit repeat ads, and build audience insights. Advertising cookies will be used only with your consent where required. This section will be updated before ads go live.
4. Third-party cookies
Third parties may set cookies when you use the Service, including:
- Content delivery networks that serve JavaScript libraries (for example ffmpeg.wasm utilities);
- Authentication providers when you sign in;
- Umami analytics (self-hosted measurement script on public toolkitscape.com pages);
- Future advertising partners.
We do not control third-party cookies. Check their policies for details.
5. Cookie banner and your choices
When you first visit, we show a cookie banner with options such as Essential only and Accept all. Your choice is stored so we do not ask again on every visit unless you clear storage or we materially change our cookie use.
You can also:
- Use Cookie preferences in the site footer to reset your choice for Toolkit Scape only (does not clear other sites or log you out elsewhere);
- Change browser settings to block or delete cookies;
- Use private browsing modes (may limit persistence);
- Contact us at [email protected] with questions.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Service from working.
6. Retention
Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies and local storage entries remain until they expire or you delete them. Consent records are kept as needed to demonstrate compliance.
7. UK GDPR and EEA
Where UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, strictly necessary cookies and similar storage rely on legitimate interests and/or contract (running the service you request). Privacy-friendly analytics on toolkitscape.com relies on legitimate interests (understanding aggregated use to secure and improve the service), balanced against your rights, with transparency in this policy and the banner. Future advertising cookies will rely on consent where required.
Analytics data may be processed on infrastructure in the EU/EEA (for example Netherlands). Where data leaves the UK or EEA, we use appropriate safeguards where required by law.
8. Updates
We will update this policy when we add advertising or new cookie categories. The effective date above will change accordingly. We may show the cookie banner again (consent version bump) if your choice is required for new categories.
